Todd Adkisson created Japanese Accent: Penult Standard, as well as the products Kanji Learning Today (Online and Workbooks). He graduated from the University of California—Davis in 1985 with a major in English Writing and a minor in Classical Greek. He completed the teacher certification program at Central Washington University in 1989. He studied Japanese at the University of Washington in 1990 and then resided in Japan from 1990 until 1995. In addition, he has worked as a professional translator for over 20 years and he is certified by the American Translators Association. He has an Education Certificate from the State of Washington and has taught at public schools.

トッド・アドキソンは、「Japanese Accent: Penult Standard」を作成して、その上、「Kanji Learning Today」（オンライン版とワークブック版）という教材も開発しました。彼は1985年にカリフォルニア大学・デービス校を卒業し、英文学を専攻、古典ギリシャ語を副専攻としました。彼は1989年にセントラル・ワシントン大学の教員資格取得プログラムを修了しました。そうして、1990年にワシントン大学で日本語を学び、その後1990年から1995年まで日本に滞在しました。さらに、トッド・アドキソンは、25年以上にわたり、翻訳者として活動しており、米国翻訳者協会の認定資格を保有しています。彼はワシントン州の教育資格証書を所持しており、公立学校で教師の仕事もしました。
