Color Codec
Description of Color Codec
Color Codec
Color Codec is a simple encoding method created by Todd Adkisson on March 13, 2026. It uses common emoji characters, with each character having an easily recognizable shape and a color. Each emoji corresponds to an ASCII character, which for many people is equivalent to a letter of the English alphabet although the letters can also be used for other languages.
Example:
The above encoded content represents the following.
suzy is very pretty and i will ask her to go to the dance
A person familiar with the encoding method would be able to read the color code, and an app described below is available to assist with code-decode (codec).

Color Codec App
The Color Codec app is a database file. The user must download the free FileMaker Go app to be able to run this file. The FileMaker Go app is available from the App Store. See instructions below.
Codec Window
• Type ASCII content (English) into the top field and then tap the βAscii to Colorβ button to convert to color.
• Tap the βCopy Colorβ button to have the code ready to paste into another app.
The user can also copy color code from another app and paste it into the Color field and then tap the βColor to Asciiβ button to convert to ASCII.
Practice Window
Practicing can help the user learn to read the color code without converting it to ASCII.
• Tap the βNext Autoβ button to start practice.
The ASCII characters will be shown one by one with the color hidden for 1 second. The practice will automatically go to the next character in sequential order.
Test Window
• A color emoji will be shown. Tap the βRevealβ to show the corresponding ASCII character.
• Tap βCorrectβ if you remembered the ASCII letter that corresponds to the emoji, and tap βIncorrectβ if you did not.
The test will automatically go to the next character in random order.
Getting Color Codec
The user must download FileMaker Go from the App Store. The FileMaker Go app is free, but it is only available for iPhone and iPad.
After downloading the Color Codec file, it will be in the Downloads folder of your device.
Open FileMaker Go app, and then tap the download icon (folder with arrow pointing downwards through it). The βColorCodec.fmp12β file will be visible in the window. Tap on it to load. From this point on the file will be in the βLaunch Centerβ of the FileMaker Go app.
